Thinking about self-employment but not sure where to start? Join our 6-month pre-start business programme aiming to help young people in Dundee get the basics to starting a viable business sorted, with hands-on support to turn your start-up idea into reality.

Towards Self-Employment

Launch It exists to help young people see self-employment as a real, achievable path to a better future and STEP Up. Start Up. is a natural extension of that mission.

 

Designed for young people in Dundee who are ready to take their first steps into business but need the right support to get there, the programme offers a structured, hands-on way to build the skills, confidence and foundations needed to thrive as a self-employed founder. All within a supportive community of local young entrepreneurs.

What You'll Get

Successful participants will receive pre-start business support which includes:

​

  • Free access to shared desk space at Launch It Dundee; a professional environment with less distractions

  • One-to-one support, mentoring & business training workshops

  • Opportunities to connect with & learn from current Launch It-supported founders based at the hub

  • A community of like-minded young entrepreneurs

  • A clear path to incubation after 6 months

Eligibility Requirements

  • Aged 18-30

  • Has a business or social enterprise idea 

  • Based in Dundee or nearby areas

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

  • Able to commit 24 hrs/week, Monday to Friday for 6 months from Oct 2025 to Mar 2027.

  • Willing to actively engage in support activities
