Jack Scott launches £5,000 fundraising campaign to support underserved young entrepreneurs.

Meet Jack Scott

In 2017, Jack Scott and Alex Wright co-founded DASH Water with a bold but brilliantly simple idea: “just water, bubbles and wonky fruit.”

Nearly a decade later, DASH has grown into a pioneering drinks brand challenging the status quo and proving that imperfect fruit can make a big impact. Having built a successful business from the ground up, Jack knows first-hand what it takes to turn an idea into reality; from the exhilarating highs to the inevitable challenges of entrepreneurship. Now, he’s putting that experience into action to help the next generation of young entrepreneurs thrive.

A Fruitful Partnership: Why Jack chose Launch It

When Jack decided to run the London Marathon, he wanted to support a charity that meant something to him.

“I started DASH 10 years ago. I’m very passionate about trying to share what I learned throughout this journey - the good and bad things, with other people who are looking to start businesses. Launch It is a great partner for me. I'm super excited and very grateful not only to be able to to run it for an amazing charity but also work with the founders they support.”

More than a fundraiser

Jack isn’t only running for Launch It. He’ll also start mentoring a Launch It-supported founder, Nick Sergiou, who runs a trainer repair and customisation business called Step With Serg.

"I think I think we all just love being able to help, especially if it's an area of you know our expertise. With Nick, I can just tell that there are so many things that we can share and talk about which will enable him to continue to grow his business. I'm really looking forward to working with him."

That’s the kind of support that changes things. Over the last 26 years, Launch It has helped young people in underserved communities turn ideas into businesses, with subsidised workspace, mentoring, training, funding access and a community around them.

With over a million young people in the UK currently not in education, employment or training, entrepreneurship can be a real route to work and independence, but only when the right support is there at the right moment.

Jack’s advice for young entrepreneurs

Asked for the one lesson he’d pass on, Jack didn’t hesitate:

“Find the right people to fill your small tent with. If you can get the right people in that tent, magic can really happen. It’s very hard to do things just by yourself.”

It’s exactly what we aim to give every Launch Iteer: the right people around them, early enough to make a difference.

Racing 26.3 miles to raise £5K

Jack has only ever run two half marathons and he’s upfront about the challenge ahead.

“I’m not a natural runner, but I’m going to give it everything that I’ve got.”

With a £5,000 fundraising target set, Jack understands how this funding can help more young founders turn their ambitions into reality. Every donation brings us one step closer to creating opportunities and helping young entrepreneurs thrive.

“It’s such an amazing cause if we can help founders that perhaps don’t have some of the privileges that other business owners have to be able to launch and make their dreams come true.”

Sponsoring Jack is simple and every pound helps us provide workspace, mentoring, training, community and funding access to young entrepreneurs from underserved communities.
